The Russia-Iran axis seems to be strengthening, something of which we would expect to see as we watch the nations spoken of in Ezekiel 38 align.

U.S.–Iran Tensions & Gulf Security
U.S. Pauses Escalation: According to the New York Times, President Trump is stepping back from plans to launch a multistage bombing campaign against Iran. The decision follows warnings from military leadership that escalating combat would dangerously deplete U.S. air-defense interceptors, particularly Patriot missiles, in the region. The administration is pivoting toward sustained economic pressure.
Contrasting Messaging: Despite reports of stockpile shortages, UN Ambassador Mike Waltz publicly stated the U.S. military has "everything that it needs" to conduct campaigns against Iran and condemned internal leaks.
Strait of Hormuz: The U.S. and UK are discussing the formation of a 40-nation naval force to protect commercial shipping from the IRGC. This comes amid unconfirmed reports of an oil tanker hitting a sea mine in the Strait and the UK pulling diplomatic staff from Tehran.
Iran's Nuclear Ambitions: U.S. intelligence assesses that Mojtaba Khamenei is actively seeking to develop a nuclear warhead capable of being mounted on long-range missiles, prompting increased security at Iranian nuclear facilities.
U.S. vs. ICC: The U.S. State Department explicitly called for the dismantling of the International Criminal Court and urged all members to withdraw from the Rome Statute.
The Ukraine–Russia–Iran Axis
Possible prophetic connection - Ezekiel 38
It is very interesting to see the deeping ties between Russia and Iran, for the past 2500 years such a partnership between Russia and Iran simply did not exist. Today however we see strategically they align and with Ukraine having hit an Iranian boat and with Iran threatening retalation this could either escalate and draw Russia and Iran closer together on a single war front, and even ulitmately lead to a wider war with the US, or it may not go anywhere.
Caspian Sea Strike: Ukraine confirmed it struck an Iranian ship in the Caspian Sea, claiming the vessel was transporting drone and missile components to Russia. Tehran, which claims it was a commercial ship and that one sailor was killed, has threatened direct retaliation against any platform launching such strikes.
Satellite Intelligence Sharing: Ukrainian President Zelenskyy accused Russia of providing Iran with active satellite surveillance of Gulf states and U.S. military facilities. Zelenskyy noted a clear correlation between Russian satellite sweeps and subsequent Iranian strikes on regional bases.
Putin on Ukraine's Borders: Russian President Putin claimed that Western Ukraine consists of lands "gifted" by Stalin and predicted those territories will eventually revert to Poland, Hungary, and Romania.
Middle East Diplomacy & Israeli Security
Saudi Nuclear Deal: U.S. and Israeli officials are heavily focused on a potential normalization deal with Saudi Arabia. Ambassador Waltz and PM Netanyahu both confirmed that the framework includes a purely civilian nuclear program for Riyadh. The Saudis would purchase U.S. reactors subject to full inspections, with a strict ban on uranium enrichment on Saudi soil.
Gaza Stabilization: The Israeli cabinet approved the deployment of an International Stabilization Force (ISF) into Gaza, reportedly part of a 20-point Trump plan. The initial force will include roughly 200 personnel from friendly nations (such as Uganda and Morocco) and will operate in areas outside IDF control, though Israel will maintain the "Yellow Line."
Diplomatic Engagements: Israel continues to push back against claims of isolation. President Herzog spoke with Bahrain's King Hamad to reinforce the Abraham Accords. Separately, Sylvan Adams (World Jewish Congress Israel) met with Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi in Paris to discuss future Israeli-Iranian diplomatic ties in a post-regime era.
Syrian Overtures: Syrian President Assad stated his country is actively avoiding clashes with Israel and is pursuing a multi-nation security agreement. UN Secretary-General Guterres notably referred to Syria as a "symbol of stability" compared to the active bombardments in Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran.
Internal Security: The Shin Bet revealed it foiled a Hamas-funded plot by a Hebron cell to assassinate National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir using explosive-laden drones.
Tech Investment: Israel's Innovation Authority announced a $33 million (NIS 100M) investment to build a national quantum computing R&D center to accelerate development in cryptography, defense, and drug discovery.
European Security
Berlin Terror Attack: A 21-year-old German citizen of Lebanese descent drove a car into a crowd and attacked people with a machete at a Berlin gay pride parade, killing one and injuring 19. The attacker is a former ISIS recruit who had avoided a prison sentence by being placed in a de-radicalization program, which he largely failed to attend. He is currently at large.
